The ultimate sun chaser, the Dollarbird arrives in northern and eastern Australia in September each year to breed before migrating to New Guinea and adjacent islands to spend the winter.
The Dollarbird gets its unusual name because of its large, prominent white spot resembling silver dollars on each wing, visible when the bird is in flight.
