Chocolate Brown T-shirt with white print.

(colloquial, Australia, New Zealand) “Maaate” is a long drawn out version of the Australian slang term "mate", which is commonly used to refer to a friend. It's used in a variety of contexts, including:

Greeting: A friendly way to say hello to a friend

Cajoling: A way to convince a friend to agree with you

Placating: A way to calm down a friend who is upset

Expression: A way to express congratulations, indignation, surprise, or skepticism

“Mate” is also used in other English-speaking countries, but it has a special connection to Australia. In Australia, “mate” can be used to address anyone, regardless of gender, and can be used to convey a sense of shared experience, mutual respect, and unconditional assistance.

Designed and handprinted by Sean for Anorak® in our little studio next to our shop - Blackbird Corner.

Please note: each T-shirt is hand printed by Sean, so there may be small inconsistencies in print and colour as he is only human.
The position of the print on each T-shirt may also slightly vary (for the same reason.) But that's why you're buying an independent designer's creation yeah?
Photos are taken in natural light, please consider that colours may vary between monitors
