Drumroll!!!!!! Introducing our very first "small bird", compact enough to be delivered to you in an A5 size box.
The Black-Throated Finch is SO adorable, it came as no surprise when it was crowned the 'Australian Bird of the Year 2019'. A fun fact not many know…both sexes share the load of incubating the eggs and feeding the cute little hatchlings once they arrive.
These colourful beauties are few in numbers and can only be found in Queensland, largely due to deforestation or modification of their natural habitat.
Ours is made from 3mm Corten steel that rusts to a deep brown. You simply hammer it in. It looks good, attracts real birds just like itself & is almost bulletproof.
Metalbirds are made from Corten® which is designed to rust. This gives them long term protection against the elements, and a beautiful patina that shifts with the season. This means paint won’t stay on for long. If you want to add colour to them, then we recommend having them professionally powder coated. It's easily hammered into most wooden structures and will rust to a deep brown. The hammering of a steel ‘peg’ into a tree will not do any damage to it. It may cause the tree to lose some sap in the short term but will not do any medium or long term damage to it.
